Let’s Talk Shared Services
There’s always a lot of talk about how we can save money. Every dollar saved is a dollar that doesn’t raise our taxes. One of the simplest and smartest ways to cut costs is through shared services. By working together, the Board of Education and the Town Council can reduce overlap, share resources, and find efficiencies. The key is keeping the conversation open and always being on the lookout for new opportunities.
Here are a few of the shared service agreements Glen Rock schools are already involved in:
Custodial & Landscaping: We partner with North Haledon Public Schools for custodial services and with Ridgewood Public Schools for landscaping and related work.
Public Works: The Borough of Glen Rock helps with snow removal and paving in our school parking lots. In return, the district provides the Borough with maintenance and technology services when needed.
Communications: The Glen Rock School District also share a Community Communications Director with Paramus Public Schools.
